Data policy

Clear rules for your data.

This policy is a practical companion to the Privacy Policy, focused on story memory, AI processing, retention, and the controls available to you.

1. Data categories

Yovela separates data into working categories so access and retention can be limited by purpose.

  • Identity data: account, authentication, age or birthday, language, and profile information.
  • Story data: prompts, messages, choices, characters, media, relationships, progress, summaries, memories, and generated responses.
  • Safety data: reports, moderation decisions, abuse signals, blocked identifiers, and investigation records.
  • Operational data: device events, diagnostics, request logs, performance measurements, and service configuration.
  • Commerce data: products, app-store transactions, Sparks balances, ledger entries, refunds, and entitlement records.

2. Purpose and access controls

Each category is used only for defined purposes described in the Privacy Policy. Access is limited to systems, personnel, and contracted providers with an operational need. Production access and material changes should be logged and reviewed under Yovela's security procedures.

3. Story memory

A story may keep structured memory—such as names, inventory, promises, relationships, time, locations, and discovered secrets—to make later scenes coherent. Yovela may also create summaries or retrieve relevant earlier events so the model can continue the story without receiving every prior message.

Editing, rewinding, or branching a story may preserve prior versions for continuity, recovery, audit, and safety. Versions no longer on the active branch are not presented as the current story state.

4. Model processing

Yovela selects the prompts, character instructions, safety rules, and relevant story context needed for a generation request. That request may be processed by contracted AI providers. We aim to minimize unrelated account information and require providers to handle requests under contractual safeguards.

Story content is not used for third-party behavioral advertising. If Yovela introduces optional use of story content for model training or improvement beyond providing, evaluating, and securing the Services, the product will disclose it and provide any consent or opt-out required by law.

5. Safety review

Automated systems may examine prompts, uploads, outputs, and behavioral signals to prevent prohibited content, fraud, and technical abuse. Authorized reviewers may examine content when needed to investigate a report, appeal, security incident, or model failure. Reviewers are expected to access only what is necessary and to follow confidentiality and access-control requirements.

6. Public and shared data

Private stories and characters are not intentionally displayed to other users. Content you publish or share by link is available according to the selected visibility. Public statistics may be aggregated, and public content may be cached for delivery. Removing public content limits future availability through Yovela but cannot erase copies already made by others.

7. Retention approach

Active account and story data is generally kept while needed to provide the account or story. Temporary model requests, caches, diagnostics, and service logs may follow shorter operational lifecycles. Purchase, tax, consent, fraud-prevention, safety, dispute, and legal records may follow longer schedules. We periodically review retention needs and delete or de-identify data when its purpose expires.

8. Export, correction, and deletion

Use available in-app controls to correct profile information, delete supported content, or request account deletion. Use support for access, portability, restriction, objection, or other privacy requests available in your jurisdiction. We verify requests before disclosing or changing account data.

A delete action removes data from active use or queues it for deletion. Limited records and protected backups may remain temporarily or for a legally permitted purpose, as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. De-identification and analytics

Yovela may aggregate or de-identify information to measure reliability, understand feature use, evaluate safety, and plan capacity. We do not attempt to re-identify data that has been de-identified for these purposes, except to test whether the de-identification remains effective or as permitted by law.

10. No data sale

Yovela does not sell personal information or story content. We do not share story messages for cross-context behavioral advertising. More detail about providers, international transfers, rights, and contact channels appears in the Privacy Policy.
